The vine

Dearly Beloved,

Grace and Peace to you.





In the center of the garden grows an apple tree
         simple and beautiful,
with heavily scented blossoms in the spring
         and fruit each autumn.

In that garden is also a vine, thick and verdant,
         that always starts small.
If you let it, the vine will grow enormous
         and choke the apple tree.

Choices
increasingly foggy at lower elevations
of the subconscious,
continuing tomorrow,
though habits of self-reflection
will clear the air
over time.
